On Location Milwaukee

I made a second print based on drawings from Kletzsch Park. For this print I was sitting in the same spot as for the other print (see previous post) but facing more to the left.

Ariana and I were in New Orleans for two days in October. We stayed in a really nice part of the city called Faubourg Marigny, it's just east of the French Quarter. We wandered around and found Washington Park where I drew this palm tree. A little later in the day we were in Jackson Square where a woman was feeding the pigeons. She seemed to favor a pigeon we called stumpy because he only had one foot. Who wouldn't favor a one footed pigeon? I tried to draw the pigeons but they just moved around too much. That didn't prevent Ariana from making  a few pigeon studies (Stumpy is the second one from the top). I know it's not On Location Milwaukee's usual stomping grounds but we thought we would carry a little bit of the On Location spirit with us.

I made a print based on one of my drawings from Kletzsch Park in June of this year. I'll be posting this same print on my ETSY site if anyone is interested.

Ariana and I went out to draw this past Labor Day weekend, the one year anniversary of On Location Milwaukee. We took a short walk to Kern Park and the Beer Line Trail after getting some coffee at Alterra and chatting with Kevin Giese. We invited Kevin to join us in the future.

There were a few cyclists and dog walkers that morning on the B L T including an old pug that plopped down in the first sun spot he found and then refused to get up. The walker was on his hands and knees, face to the pavement trying to coax the dog to get up, but with no success. Eventually the man picked up the dog and carried him down the trail. Pugs.

It was pretty chilly that morning and we were in the shade so we didn't stay more than an hour and a half. We did get some drawing done though. Sorry no scans today.

Enough nature here for Chris and urban structures for me. We were hoping to go again next weekend, but Labor Day weekend promises too many events around HD which is too bad because I wanted to see the Evel Knievel exhibit.

(We stopped off for a little sustenance on the way).

Paula and Chris joined me yesterday. It was rather chilly so we wimped out after about an hour and a half. We'll try again in a couple of weeks. Here's some results: Chris' drawings, photos, then my drawing and a few drawing/photo composites (to see if I could salvage my drawings):

Nice Ride and hair standing on end due electrical charge. I just read that it could mean that you will be struck by lightening. Luckily that didn't happen...
